Formed in the early 1980's by a group of dedicated Longbow enthusiasts, who's goal was the use, enjoyment and tradition of the longbow.

This has not changed since those early years and today the R.M.L.A. still promotes the use of the longbow in all events. Most notably the "North American Longbow Safari", which has been a premiere event held each year to bring longbow enthusiasts together in a rendezvous style shoot.

Letter from our President

Fellow Traditional Archers,

It is with great sadness that we have learned that the Calgary Archery Centre has permanently closed its doors on November 30, 2022. Alan and Lorna Southwood, the owners of CAC, have been a large part of the backbone of archery in Calgary, and have given tirelessly of themselves and their business over the past 30 years. We can never give an adequate picture of the value of their support and love for archery in Calgary. They graciously and generously supported the Rocky Mountain Longbow Association and kindly opened their facility after hours to permit the RMLA to host 3D shoots each month over the past many winters. Truer
friends have never been known.

Please note we are trying to find a new place to host shoots and are working on the logistics of hosting a 2023 NALS. We apologize for the setback in the planning of this event and are doing our best to make it happen. We appreciate your patients.

Dave Iredale
President, Rocky Mountain Longbow Association
